Excellent construction. Holds 3 flakes of
hay, and the 2" x 2" holes are the
perfect size. The idea is to make your
horse pluck the hay in smaller amounts
to encourage slower eating, which this
hay net accomplishes. Perfect for the
biology of the species, and probably
helps avoid colic.
We have not noted any problems with
horses pulling hay through, biting or
tearing the netting.
Our suggestion is to hang the nets from
poles on your track (if you have a
Paddock Paradise set-up) or along your
turnout area, 1 to 2 ft. off the ground.
The nets eliminate virtually all hay
waste. Rain seeps through the nets and
drains, so problems with mold are
avoided.
The hay net is a small investment which
saves money in hay and gives you a
healthier horse!
